Meet Our Vet Nurses
Elicia - Practice Manager
During her childhood, Elicia cared for many animals including: dogs, rabbits, birds, fish and even an axolotl. So it is no surprise that her lifes work is to now look after your beloved animals.
Elicia started as a Veterinary Nurse in 2008 and completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2011. Since then she has worked in different animal fields such as grooming and behaviour, but has always come back to nursing. This is what she finds the most enjoyable and rewarding of all.
Elicia and her fiance, Andrew, live with Poppy, a Cane Corso Cross (DNA test to prove it!), whom they adopted from a shelter in 2013. Poppy is a social butterfly and will make friends with everyone she meets. Poppy also loves to play with Holly, their foster fail feline.
Elonnah - Senior Veterinary Nurse
Elonnah loves animals so much that she can’t stop studying them! She studied with Box Hill Tafe in 2013 and graduated with a diploma in animal technology. Now, after completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing she is also completing her Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services with Delta Institute. Elonnah has been employed with Doncaster Veterinary Hospital since the end of 2013 and is one of DVHs Puppy School instructors.
In her spare time, Elonnah volunteers at the Healesville Sanctuary in many roles including guiding tours and training the birds. Her animal babies at home include two rabbits, Evee and Smudge, three birds, Mali, Zoey and Rocky, and a cat named Noah.
Naomi - Senior Veterinary Nurse
After 10 years working in a corporate environment, Naomi jumped at the opportunity to follow her heart with a career in nursing. Four years on, she is now a Cert IV Qualified Veterinary Nurse and hasn’t looked back!
Since Naomi joined the Doncaster team in November 2016 she has enjoyed building relationships with clients and showering their fur kids with loads of love and attention! Her real love however, is helping treating pets and surgical nursing.
A lot of Naomi’s spare time is taken up with her menagerie of 3 crazy cats (Greta, Mara and Cookie), Cuz the Cockatiel and adorable Bull Arab Myka. She and Myka keep active, with long walks around the huge number of northern and city fringe parklands. Naomi also enjoys travelling (38 countries to date), eating out and catching up with friends.
Hailley - Senior Veterinary Nurse
Hailley is our self-proclaimed “crazy cat lady!” and has a very big obsession with cats. She has two cats herself called Yuki and Sheshka. Originally from Newcastle, NSW, Hailley moved down to Melbourne and now lives with her partner Joe and of course, the cats.
Having completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2018, Hailley was eager to begin her veterinary nurse journey and started with us in early 2019. Hailley enjoys goat yoga in her spare time, and yes, it is exactly as it sounds.
Marnie - Veterinary Nurse
Marnie joined the team in October 2016 and is currently in her final stages of her Veterinary Nursing studies.
An animal lover and advocate from a young age, she spends time annually volunteering at Soi Dog in Phuket, Thailand.
Marnie has a great passion for Surgical Nursing and would love to pursue this in the future. Marnie lives with Shadow , her Bull Arab X and Bruce a Cockatiel whom she adopted from the clinic on her first day!
Ashleigh - Veterinary Nurse
Ashleigh started in November 2016 after completing Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services.
After starting her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2017, she has found a passion in animal behaviour and is regularly an instructor in our Puppy Pre-School classes with Elonnah.
When Ashleigh is not at work, she likes to spend time with her nephew Jai, cooking up a storm in the kitchen and training her behaviour-challenged Blue Heeler named Duke. (A mechanic’s car is never fixed...)
Ashleigh looks forward to seeing your pets and giving them lots of treats and cuddles.
Lisa - Veterinary Nurse
Lisa started working with us in July 2017. Before this, she has completed a Bachelor of Biological Sciences from La Trobe University and is currently undertaking her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
In her spare time Lisa enjoys volunteering at Weribee Zoo and rescues animals with Wildlife Victoria.
Lisa shares her home with her partner Luke, a Dwarf Lop rabbit called Shay and Icarus, a Rainbow Lorikeet.
Isabella - Junior Veterinary Nurse
Isabella is lucky enough to live with a menagerie of animals. She has 3 Border Collies - Rosie, Billie and newest addition Daisy. She has two cats, Amber and Lexi, one of which she adopted from us only 2 months after working here! She also has two guinea pigs - Jax and Ollie.
Izzy has just started her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is looking forward to gaining valuable and practical experience at our vet hospital.
